hey
I am trying to set up a IPSec vpn tunnel between a RVS4000 and a WRV210
both diviceses are placed behind a modem/router on a differend location
when I tested in a lab environment it worked well
there the wan site where both connected in de same lan area
but now when they are instald on location i can't get it to work properly
the wan ip is resolved by dyndns and that works ok
I forwarded some ports on de modems, so the request get to the cisco routers and I disabeld the firewall so I wont get problems from that
now the problem is that I can't get the tunnel up and working
does anyone have some suggestion of what I can do to get it to work

Hi tom,
Hmmm just wondering if you are facing a MTU issue with your DSL modems.
Try adjusting the MTU size in the routers from the default 1500 to maybe 1492.
If that doesn't work try going lower to maybe 1428.
Let's see if that worked as an initial step. try these steps on both routers.

Hi dhornste
I cheked the MTU and on both modems the size was 1488
I changed them to 1492 and later on to 1428 but my VPN did'nt get online

Hi Tom,
Maybe it's now time to make contact the good folks at the Small Business Support center (SBSC).
I'm only guessing as to what might be a cause. It may just be a issue with the xDSL modems, who knows.
But the guys there must have seen this sort of behavior before.
To get to the SBSC try finding the appropriate contact phone number via the following URL;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html
I will monitor this post in case someone else has a good suggestion.
regards Dave
