Can someone PLEASE explain why there is a restriction to ONLY use Static IP with DMZ in the same subnet?????? That is absolutely ridiculous!!!
It is becoming more common for small businesses to have a PPPoE connection with a block of public IP's. We DON'T need Cisco as a nanny telling us which connection can/cannot have public ip's routed to them. In that situation I cannot use that port which ***es me off!!
Does anyone know how to get around that restriction? I need to use all the ports on the RV320 including the DMZ port. Please don't suggest I make a change upstream (the ISP modem is in bridge mode and we want it to stay that way). There actually needs to be a change to the RV320 firmware for this specific reason.
Some additional info: If I change the WAN1 port to Static IP, then enter the DMZ range on same subnet, then change WAN1 back to PPPoE, everything works. However, it is very easy to get caught in a "gotcha" and render the router inoperable. Since I manage it remotely this is a problem.
Please don't wait a year to release firmware to fix this!
