Hello Horace,

The PPTP server on RV34x series can't assign static IP addresses to the remote clients. If you're using only one client then you could set the pool range to be a single IP address but for multiple remote clients, this is not viable.

Regards,

Martin

Not sure what is the hardware and model of the device and what code running.

high level possible - but manual task involved if the device doing all task:

example :

create multiple VPDN groups and assign a single address IP pool to each group. You can then assign these groups to the users that require static IP.

e.g

ip local pool bbandipool1 10.10.10.100
ip local pool bbandipool2 10.10.10.101

vpdn group pptp-bbandi1 client configuration address local bbandipool1
vpdn group pptp-bbandi2 client configuration address local bbandipool2

If you have radius server, then radius can handle this.

It is RV340 router and the VPN client is a 4G router.

I successfully access the 4G router through the VPN. But when the 4G router reconnect to VPN, there is a chance that the PPTP server assign a different ip. That is why i am asking. And can you tell me more about how to create multiple VPDN groups. Because I can't find it in the console

Thank you for your reply.

The one i have given example - not relavant to RV340 (this is small business router) - may need to look and advise is this possible to have static IP for dial in users in RV

EDIT

Look at the admin guide :

Oh! Anyway thanks for your reply.

One more thing, is it possible that L2TP in RV340 support  assigning static ip to remote clients?

Hello Hoarce,

Same thing - only pool of addresses or single IP address for a single remote client.

Martin

Hello Martin

I have a question. There is a PPTP server (RV340) with 2 remote clients (a pc and a 4G router). Behind the 4G router there is a network cam. How can I access the network cam via the pc. The pc can access the 4G router but I have no idea how to access the network cam.

Thank you.
