QuickVPN with RV220W

Hi all!

My goal is to upgrade our company's internet connection and to replace the currently used fritzbox with a RV220W cisco router on that occasion.

In a first step I am just trying to test the cisco router inside the company network. I installed the latest firmware and connected the WAN port to a company switch. When I connect my notebook to one of the the router's LAN ports, I can access the internet and our company network.

Then I followed the steps described in the manual to set up QuickVPN. When I connect the notebook to the company LAN, I should be able to use QuickVPN to connect to the router. In fact I got to the point where I am able to connect as long as I use windows safe mode. When I try to connect in normal mode, I get the error message: "The remote gateway is not responding. Do you want to wait?".
QuickVPN's log file contains the entry: "[WARNING]Ping was blocked, which can be caused by an unexpected disconnect."
I already added rules to the Windows Firewall, disabled the Firewall and uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials without any success. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. Can anybody give me a hint what I am missing?

Thanks in advance
Mike

Sometimes one just has to write the problem down. I found the solution! As I wrote, I want to switch from fritzbox to cisco and i still had fritzbox' VPN software installed. Although I did not start the software, it had three services active. I had to disable these services and reboot. Now I can connect to my cisco router using QuickVPN. Maybe this thread helps someone. I might be back soon with another problem...

Now I would like to mark this discussion as "answered". How does one do this?
