Hi there,
After doing a firmware update to version 4.2.3.06 my router stopped responding.
The diagnostics light blinking yellow.
There is not much information for this model how to recover the firmware. On model RV042 seems to be a recover firmware utility. Anything similar for RV0042G too?
Best regards,
Nuno

Thanks for contacting Cisco.
The RV042G does not have a firmware recovery utility. You can Factory reset the device by holding in the reset button for 30 seconds.

Thanks Micheal.
I tried that but with no luck. I just get the same yellow dignostics light blinking.
By setting my computer with a fixed address of 192.168.1.2 I'm able to ping 192.168.1.1 but no access to http://192.168.1.1.
Anything else I can try?
Best regards,
Nuno

You can try a 30/30/30 reset
- With power on, hold in reset button for 30 sec.
- Continue holding in the reset button and power the device off for 30 sec.
- Conting holding in the reset button and power device on for 30 sec.
- Release reset button

Hi Michael.
Just tried it this morning. Still no change keeps just blinking the diagnostics yellow light.
Should I just return it?
Best regards,
Nuno

Yes, the 30/30/30 is the last option.

I had this exact problem a week ago. It's toast. I had to return mine for exchange. I had cisco send me an email recommending this course of action, in case they gave me grief at the sales counter about it.
