RV042 Basic Set Up Help

Hi

I did a quick search but couldn't find the answer so I'm hoping someone can help me.

I managed to login into the router but had to use Internet Explorer as edge and Chrome didn't allow me entry.

Anyway I'm in the UK.  I had my normal Internet plugged in from My BT Router into the RV042 in Port 1.

In Port 2 I have my Starlink Connected.

When I log into the router it says both connections are connected.

When I try and use the internet - web browse or otherwise it isn't allowing me to connect.  I've tried to reset but nothing happens except the set up again.  I'm assuming I have done something fundamentally wrong.

Please please help.

If I understood correcly your pluging the RV042  in the BT link and plug starlink on the RV02 and then you try ro use internet from the startlink? what is it the Starlink?

Did you check the IP address? Does BT have DHCP and your RV02 is getting it from them?

Sorry maybe not clear:

Starlink (Satallite Internet developed by Elon Musk) in DMZ/Internet Port
BT (Normal Broadband) in Internet Port

Port 1 is connected to My PC

Here is my router page not sure about your ip address question

I got it now.

Well, it seems to me that the setup is not good. You should use  differents IPs address for BT and StartLink. As the internet gateway for both is 192.16.1.1, I dont know the router behavior. Probably it will  load labance or not sent at all.

Thank you for the reply - I don't know how to do this.  Do I change the IP address for the starlink in the Cisco Router? Or do i Do that on both the BT and Starlink Router?

First, you might know that this IP can´t be any IP. In order to your router communicate with BT and/or Starlink, you need to know which IP they are using so that you can configure your side.

I believe they might use DHCP, which in this case your side would be configured automatic. If that is the case, we had a coincidence here and they both are using the same information.

I sugest you to unplug one of them and try to reach the internet just to make sure you successed.

Thanks for your reply Flavio - you're being fantastically helpful but I am trying to figure out what you are saying.  I've unplugged one of the suppliers and it's still not passing through

This DHCP print is for your devices. Those connected to the RV042.

What I am thinking is how did you configure the WAN connections. Did you configure anything or you just plug in and done?

Are you looking for redundant internet with BT and StarLink?

You also need to worry about NAT if the RV042 will be your gateway.
