Hi all,
I've recently bought a RV042 wich is great as i've got 2 Internet Connections..
The first Internet access is as below:
(WAN-1@)
ZYXEL P642 ADSL 2+
Lan IP: 192.168.0.254
Mask: 255.255.255.0
The second Internet access is as below:
(WAN-2@)
CLEAR WIMAX
Lan IP: 192.168.0.250
Mask: 255.255.255.0
The RV042:
Lan IP: 192.168.0.240
Mask: 255.255.255.0
I don't know the Gateway IP from the ADSL ISP.
I know the Gateway IP from the WIMAX ISP.
Actually i working with the WAN 1 & WAN 2 connected onto the same switch with is connected to 2 other switches.
All client computers are then connected to these two switches.
On each client, i'm using either WAN 1@ IP or WAN 2@ IP as gateway in the network panel.
Of course, this is working. But i'd like to use the load balancing features of the RV042 wich i bought for
If i understand well, i just need to connect WAN 1@ to the WAN 1 port of the RV42, and the WAN 2@ to the WAN 2 port, and set up the load balancing in RV042 web interface..
But of course, that's not working.. i guess because they're all on the same subnet. Is that right ?
If anyone could enlight me it would really be great ^^
Thanks in advance,

Hello Jack,
Thank you for posting. You are correct, you should have the WAN ports on different subnets. The easiest way to accomplish this is to ask one or both ISPs to bridge their modem so that your router has a true WAN IP address. For example if your DSL modem uses PPPoE, you can bridge it and set the WAN type for that modem in the router to PPPoE. Enter the Username and Password from the ISP in the router (instead of the modem) under PPPoE settings and you should get a WAN IP address on the router for that port.

Thanks you very much mpyhala,
As you've guessed it, i'm quite new regarding this.
Another question are:
The WAN 1 ADSL Router Modem is quite far from the WAN 2 WIMAX Router..
This way, they're both connected FIRST to another switch to reach the RV042.
Do i really need to PHYSICALLY connect the WAN-1@ & WAN-2@ Routers to the WAN 1 & WAN 2 ports behind the RV042 ?
Or can i connect the RV042 WAN 1 & WAN 2 ports all together on the same switch, wich lead to two other switches where my two Internet routers are connect ?
Thanks again for that,
Best regards,
PS: There is no way to use the CLEAR WIBX-175 in bridge mode.
So i'm wondering how about seting up the two Internet access routers in the RV042 using their LAN IP Address ??

Jack,
Once question i would have , is the two switches in front of the RV042 router managed switches? If so this shouldn't be a problem connecting the RV042 behind these two. You would have to create vlans for WAN1 and vlan for WAN2 to separate the broadcast domains. technically it would still work even if you didn't have them separated but could cause some problems so i would highly recommend putting those in there separate vlans.
Thanks,
