RV042 Rate Control what is its effect?

good day sir's

I currently bought CISCO RV042 and is a newbie to CISCO products i would like to know the meaning of "Rate Control" under the bandwidth management: rate control i selected all traffic checked wan1 and wan2 set min to 1500 kilobit per sec and max to 2500kilobit per sec.. its connected to my internet cafe and currently has 50 units using 2ADSL connection with max bandwidth of upto 4.5mbps ea thank you..

Hi Ian Joker, thank you for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan I am part of the Small business Support community.The rate control is a feature to adjust the bandwidth settings for upstream and downstream traffic also this feature this is used the most for Quality of Service (QoS), you can find more specifications in this link bellow,http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/csbr/rv0xx/administration/guide/rv0xx_AG_78-19576.pdf to be more specific in the chapter 5 System Management, page 81.
