RV042G Firmware Failure

Firmware failure on the rv042g router. I am unable to access the web interface, and holding down the reset button appears to do nothing, (unplugging holding the reset down and plugging it back in while still holding the reset until the lights flicker and i even tried for a min plus) DIAG light is still blinking.

I am able to still ping it the router though.

I downloaded the firmware upgrade utility and tried that with no success. The ip is set to the default but the default password isn't working, neither is the password that was set in a working condition.

i appreciate any help!

If the Diag status light continues to flash, the firmware image is damaged.
