RV042G lates Firmware crashes

Hi
I operate two RV042G and wanted to do the latests Firmware update on them. Because I lost the PW, I did a full reset on one the first unit (30sec Reset hold) then logged in with the default user/pw which was fine. Next I run the firmware update from within the RV042G web gui to update to 4.2.3.10. Didn't run through... After that nothing worked except the recovery via tftp process with the former Firmware 4.2.3.9!
TFTP with 4.2.3.10 crashes the RV042G
TFTP with 4.2.3.9 (working) and then run the update process for 4.2.3.10 again crashes the RV042G. It simply locked me out! After the Firmware Update I was not able again to log in for the web server GUI.

By now, 3times of a Firmware Update for 4.2.3.10 failed and I believe that this latest update has a serious problem.
Any help or "newer" version for the RV042G? Always needed to recover via TFTP process being very time consuming...
best regards, Thom

PS) didn't try the second unit yet, as we need that one operational without long service break....
but I am quit sure it will not behave different

Hi Sir,

My name is Puneet Sandel and I am from Cisco small business technical support center.

As off now this issue has not been reported by anyone. Kindly let us know whether you are trying to do firmware upgrade via HTTP or TFTP option. If you are using TFTP then I suggest you to use HTTP for firmware upgrade from within web GUI.

Also make sure the DIAG LED is not solid red and the firmware upgrade gets completed.

Do not forget to mark this post as the solution in case the issue gets resolved.

Regards,

Puneet Sandel

Hi
I did the first update via http and via the web gui on the RV042G. It crashed. Then I did an update via tftp. It first looked as it would work but when I tried to log in via http, the login hanged. Then I recovered by loading an older version via tftp. Everything worked again. I then started a next http update via the web gui again. It crashed again. Then I stoped. I did the tftp update with the older version once more and the firewall is now operated withthe older version. I dont think I will get any other result after 3 failures.

Best reagards, thomas

I have managed to login again.

In my case, only Firefox works.
