In SETUP, Forwarding, Service Management, I have added new services, with Name, protocol and port range. If I only use a single port, eg. 1083 - 1083, it won't accept it. If I use a range, eg. 1083 - 1084, it may accept it, but it cannot be changed or deleted later. I have less than the max of 30 services. It is a RV042G, Firmware ver 4.2.1.02 date Jan 18, 2012. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong ??

Hi Mike,
Have you tried followed the document: Port Range Forward Configuration on the RV016, RV042, RV042G, and RV082 VPN Routers?
I just ran a quick test on the RV042G, Firmware v4.2.1.02 (Jan 18, 2012) and it seemed to work. I had no issues with creating or deleting a port range of 1083-1083 or 1083-1084.
