Hi,
I'm hoping that someone here has had or is having a similar issue and can help me. I just setup an RV220W as my home router. Everything connected fine, etc. however, one of my wireless devices (it's a security camera) disconnects after 1 hour. I am able to reconnect the device if I either reboot it, reboot the RV220, or disable / re-enable the Port Forwarding rule I've established for it. Other wireless and wired devices do not have any issues.
In the past, I had this same camera working for over two years over wireless while it was connected to a Linksys E2000 router. I enabled the logs on the RV220W last night, and the error message that I receive is: secureBit not set in GTK Msg2. I've got the same SSID on the RV220 that I had on the E2000, same port forwarding, same MAC address client list, etc. Like I said, none of my other wireless or wired devices disconnect at all, just this camera, which worked flawlessly until I switched routers.
If anyone can please help, I would greatly appreciate it. I am using the latest firmware which is: 1.0.4.17.
Here is an example from the error log:
Wed Feb 6 19:07:33 2013(EST) [rv220w][Local0-wireless][UDOT11] secureBit not set in GTK Msg2
I keep thinking that it has something to do with a DHCP lease expiring. Even though I have the camera set as "Static IP", the router keeps seeing it as "Dynamic", when I look at the "DHCP Leased Clients" tab. I do however have other "Statically assigned" ip addresses showing up in there, just not this one, for whatever the reason. I've rebooted the router and the camera, it still always shows as "dynamic" even though it isn't.
When you google this error message, there are some topics regarding WPA handshakes, but I can't see where this would be an issue. My previous router had the same exact security, and had no issues. Maybe I need to do a "Reset" on the camera so that it forgets being connected to the old router / network, even though I've deleted it and re-added it several times, maybe there is some sort of memory somewhere inside the camera. I will update with any additional results I receive.
Thank you all!

Hi Kory, thank you for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan I am part of the Small business Support community.
Can I ask you, what is the camera model ?
Also can you make sure that no object by interference between the router and the camera and disturbing wireless signal, here I will provide you an advices to improve the signal. https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-29821
And could you verify if in your topology there are other device sharing the same IP address as your camera, also you can try to assign a different address to your camera to discard the chance.
I hope you find this answer useful,

Jonathan,
I think I've found the issue, however, I don't know if I am able to correct it. I found that the "Wireless Key Renewal" is set at 3600 seconds, which is roughly one hour. I think that when the key is renewed, my camera isn't smart enough to pickup the new key. I tried making this interval shorter (i.e. 600 seconds) and sure enough, my camera disconnected within 10 minutes.
When I look at my old router Linksys E2000, I also used WPA2 encryption, however, there is no where to set the amount of seconds for the "Key Renewal" it is just some default value, my camera has no issues with this router whatsoever, so I believe this is the problem.
The model of my camera is: ADC-V510, and it uses port 40925. As of right now I have disconnected the RV220W and reconnected my Linksys E2000 router. I've also verified that no other devices on my network are attempting to use this IP address (I've used Static DHCP to manually assign IP's by MAC address).
Thank you for your follow-up, I really appreciate it!

Hi Kory, you colud also make that interval longer, The maximum is 36000 seconds, you can also try changing your security policy, try with WPA version 1, just as a feedback you could configure a Radius server to authenticate. To configure:
STEP 1 Choose Wireless > AP Profile.
STEP 2 Check the box in the row of the profile you want to configure and click Advanced Configuration.
STEP 3 Specify the number of seconds that the master keys are stored in the AP.
STEP 4 In the 802.1X re-authentication interval field, enter the timeout interval (in seconds) after which the AP should re-authenticate with the RADIUS server.
STEP 5 Click Save.
I hope you find this answer useful and if you have any other question you could post it and we´ll help you.

Jonathan,
I don't think I want to go through the hassle of setting up a Radius server, so I think for now, I will just resort back to my old E2000 router. Hopefully this post will help others though.
Thanks!

I have possibly the solution for you Miller
I have same problem with my camera security each day, my camera disconnect in my RV220W
My type camera is Trendnet TV-IP410W and 422W.
My solution change the security for WPA only
My setup:
In my wireless setup camera you need to have
Authentication: WPA-PSK
Encryption TKIP
In my router RV220W wireless setup I need to have
Secutity: WPA+WPA2
Encryption:TKIP+AES
Authentication: PSK
My experience WPA is more stable than WPA2, but my priority first is my camera work 24h days.

I think I have the solution
1) go on your camera wireless check the channel is connect. (because the SID when is connect mustly have a channel with)
2) Setup the RV220W
go in Wireless > Basic Settings > change "Channel Auto by the Channel your Camera" > save (if is possible all your camera have the same channel) I think the channel 6 - 2.437 GHz is mustly uses.
