RVS4000 QVPN unable to connect

RVS4000 setup at our office. QVPN installed on home pc with Win7 Home Edition and Norton Internet Security 2011. It gets the following error:

"The remote gateway is not responding. Do you want to wait? "

QVPN version 1.4.2.1, RVS4000 router firmware updated from V2.0.0.3 to the latest V2.0.2.7 as it is the Version 2 Hardware. Same problem. I even uninstalled the Norton NIS 2011, rebooted the machine and enable win 7 firewall without any anti virus software installed, same error. Anyone can help me figuring the problem and have a succesful connection as I've been reading whatever I can search through the Web and trying them to no avail. I really need this working as I do a lot of work at home and need remote connection to my computer at work.

Below is the error log...

Under the RVS4000 Firewall-Basic Settings do you have BLOCK WAN Requests disabled? If not please Disable this.

THANKS

Yes, BLOCK WAN Request disabled.

Don,

Have you tried bring windows7 machine up in safe mode with network and  using Qvpn then, make sure IKE AuthIP ipsec keying modules and IPsec Policy agent services is running. I do believe it does not disable these services.

Attempt the connection again, this will verify its not a program running on your computer causing the problem.

Hope this helps,

Jasbryan.

I have the same problem. I can't connect from my Windows 7 Professional 64 bits. However, I was able to connect from another computer with Widows 7 home 32 bits. I was reading on-line and it seems there could be an issue with the 64 bits. Anyone can help?

Thank you!

Gustavo

I tried on safe mode with networking, same problem. ANy other solution please.

Hello Everybody!

I found a solution to the problem with WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 64 BITS.

1) Be sure that the WINDOWS FIREWALL is enabled and working (IPSec doesn't work if Windows Firewall is not enabled)

2) Go to WINDOWS FIREWALL (CONTROL PANEL -> SYSTEM AND SECURITY) and select ALLOW A PROGRAM OR FEATURE THROUGH WINDOWS FIREWALL;  Click on CHANGE SETTINGS and then CLICK on ALLOW ANOTHER PROGRAM... ; then select QUICKVPN.

3) Go to WINDOWS FIREWALL AND ADVANCE SECURITY, then select INBOUND RULES; you will see four entries fro QUICKVPN. BE SURE THAT THEY ARE ALL ENABLED.

DONE!

It worked for me.

Good luck!

Gustavo
