Unable to log into C1111-8P

I seem to be stuck. I was having ChatGPT help me get the router setup for my network but I seem to have gotten stuck. At one point it decides that we should factory reset then start over. After that it started asking for a username and password. I've tried cisco/cisco and admin/admin both don't work. ChatGPT had me go into rommon to boot without using the user and password but it never works. Any ideas?

rommon 1 > confreg 0x2142

You must reset or power cycle for new config to take effect

I would have done the same things you did - setting the configuration registry to 0x2142 and resetting the router. This setting should have instructed the router to boot and ignore the startup config. Apparently it doesn't.

Try the setting for confreg 0x142 like described in the document provided by M02@rt37 .

Thank you both!!!

I don’t know what the final solution ended up being. I did the confreg 0x142 and also saw another article that made me think that the BOOT variable shouldn’t be blank, I made the BOOT variable use a universal version that was already on the device, it seemed like when it was blank, it would use another version (ucmk) Not sure why or what it was. I did the confreg and BOOT variable at same time and it worked. I dont know if it was one or the other or both.
