Hello
I'm trying to set up VLAN's but can't get it working.
I have these components
- firewall Cisco RV042G
- Switch Cisco CBS220
What I would like to create is three separate VLAN's with
192.168.1.1 (my default LAN)
vlan-2 192.168.2.1..
vlan-3 192.168.3.1..
On the RV042 I can set 4 vlans to each of the 4 available ports. I have set VLAN2 to port 2. My CBS220 port 8 is connected to port2 on the RV042G.
I'm trying to get the VLAN2 (from RV042G) to port 2 on the CBS220. I have set up VLAN with id 2 with permission General to port 2. I get connection through port 2 but only as ip 192.168.1.1.. When I remove the admin VLAN there is no connection on port 2.
I have followed your guide on how to create vlans on CBS220.
I'm thinking, do I need a router between my RV042 and CBS220 that creates the VLAN's? or should it work with existing components?
if I need more components, please specify recommended product in small business family.
Thanks in advance

yes you need a router to pass traffic between the subnets you have assigned to the vlan's

Thanks for the link, RV042G seems not have menu's for VLAN, are there any special instructions available for the RV042?
