I'd like to set up my WRP500-A-K9 router with some basic firewall rules but do not know what to enter. Other devices in addition to this router must have very similar features, so I don't think the process or rules would necessarily be specific to the WRP500.
There are two areas to enter rules:
Network Setup > Firewall > IPV4 > Internet Access Control (Rules controlling access to the Internet)
Network Setup > Firewall > IPV4 > Inbound Access Control (Rules controlling access from the Internet (WAN to LAN))
The Administration Guide describes how to create rules but does not give examples or best practice.
Since Cisco went to some trouble to create this firewall feature, I imagine that someone is using it and has documented their rules.
I didn't search extensively so they may be published somewhere, but would someone share a set of rules or at least a logical framework for creating rules?
