Conceptual Question for you guys/gals.
Is it possible to use a single CUCM to receive it's own destined calls as well as act as a router/gateway for calls between 2 other connected CUCMs? Would this be accomplished with route patterns solely or is there some other technology that Call Manager has to allow for this capability? I know my switching and routing topics but Call Manager is another beast so I'll live the explanations to someone far more experienced.
Thank you for and and all help!

I assume you mean CUCM clusters, not individual nodes. Is that correct? You could tie them together through the gateway, but you might want to consider using SIP trunks between the clusters. That wouldn't create a dependency on the gateway or add any load to it. There is a question of how you would tie the dial plans together, but that is a different kind of discussion.

Conceptually it should be possible. What are you trying to accomplish from a business perspective? There might be another way to accomplish that.

We are trying to allow customer sites to communicate with each other and traditionally this was fine being that there were only 2 call managers to deal with but now due to the growing and specific infrastructure in place, the 3rd call manager must act as a gateway to pass traffic between the outer 2 call managers as well as receiving. I was wondering where a good place to start looking for a solution would be? I don't know if there is a specific Route Pattern, Trunk to from, or Calling space to look into?

I believe it to be one instance of Call Manager on a server or CSR, not too sure, however the information provided is enough to get me started and looking in the right direction, so thank you!
