Hello Experts,
I have a bunch of 2meg sites connected to a 7200 series router through serial interfaces. As per my knowledge the ISP is suppose to provide us clock and on our DTE (Routers on both end) we need to configure bandwidth 2000 command for 2 meg circuit.
But service provider is saying that their 2 meg is set to slave
"
the customer needs to set his A end kit to master but can't as equipment not able to set his pop end eqivalent to DTE
there is a clock signal coming from 2meg cct but this is free running and drifts "
i can see clock coming through sh controller command and i am using x.21 cable with DTE end connected to my router.
Service provider is saying that they are not providing clocking so i think we have to configure one of our end to provide clock and other end to use bandwidth command. If you guys know how BT set their equipment it will make it lot easier for me.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Hi Amjad,
What problems are you facing? packet-loss?

Hello Esomarriba,
We have huge number of input and CRC errors on interfaces and because of the errors sometimes our routers lose EIGRP neighbour relationship and ofcourse links are running very slow.
Cheers!

Is the line showing as up up?
We have had a few line with BT in the past and the clocking always came from there end as it dictates what the speed of the line is
Can you do a show interface and paste the result please?

it saying you have the DTE end of the cable pluged in and you are reciveing a clock rate 2047212
if there was no clock rate the layer 2 part of the line wouldnt be up at all is there a box that your serial cable plugs in to think BT call them a "quick eagle"
I am guessing this a point to point link between two of your sites?
