Hi,
I have an old 2610 and I am trying to get it up and running. Every time it boots, I get the following message:
System Bootstrap, Version 11.3(2)XA4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Copyright (c) 1999 by cisco Systems, Inc.
TAC:Home:SW:IOS:Specials for info
C2600 platform with 65536 Kbytes of main memory
open: file "2" not found
open(): Open Error = -1
loadprog: error - on file open
boot: cannot load "flash:2"
I've tried resetting config register, and I have tried tftpdnld - to no avail.
What else can I try?
Thanks, Steve Vick

Steve,
Looks like some thing wrong with the file, either corrupt. You will need to reload the image into the box using tftpdnld. Now make sure you enter the 5 parameters for TFTPDNLD ALL CAPS and no spaces between the parameter, = and the actual values. Check this link.

We tried that, and it was successful, but after reset, we were back to square one. However, when we are able to get in, with dumb luck, it shows the correct version. Do we need to upgrade bootstrap? If so, how?
