2800 question

I have a 2800 router with two serial interfaces, for some reason the second serial showing the clock rate command. we tried to remove it with the "no" but it does not work.. Whenever we connect the serial cable to this interface, it shows as DCE not DTE (show controllers s0/0/1).. How can we fix that?

It might help to know what kind of interface this was (and what kind of controller). But in general the determination of DTE or DCE depends on the cable that is connected. Can you tell us about the cable and can you verify whether it is a DCE cable or a DTE cable?
