2911 power supply lights up but router has no life

i bought a cisco 2911 via ebay markes as spares or repair so it was no real loss if it wasn't working. however this one has a fault which i'd like any feed back on please. i plug a power ppluck into the ac socket, the supply ok light lklights up green. i flick the rocker swith to on but nothing happens. any thoughts as to why?

Hello,

Best guess would be a bad power supply or dead router. You could try and re-seat the power supply just to see if that would have any effect. An inspection of the guts would also be in order just to make sure it's a complete router.

the router has no dimms in it, but that would not stop it lighting up. i like you suspect a duff power supply. the supply ok light comes on but when i pulled oout the supply i noticed some scorch marks on the side. I intend to try another supply.
