2921 Problem with VDPN and PPPoE

Hello Folks,

Customer's got a problem.

He can't configure "protocol pppoe" on his 2921 in a VDPN group.

vpdn-group test

accept-dialin

protocol x <---- only l2tp or pptp are available, but no pppoe

I've searched the whole internet for a reason/solution but couldn't find anything...

My guess would be that he needs another IOS w/ another feature-set.

Can somebody enlighten me?

Hello Tim,

In recent IOSes, the PPPoE access is configured under bba-group and not under a vpdn-group anymore.

This can be an example:

vpdn enable
bba-group pppoe global
 virtual-template 1

If the PPPoE session has to be further forwarded via L2TP, an additional vpdn-group must be configured for this but to create a simple PPPoE concentrator, this configuration should work (note you still have to create the virtual-template interface referred to in the bba-group config).
