3640 No IOS image

I have a Cisco 3640. I was trying to upgrade the image. Is there a way to load the new ios image from rommon? This router has no ip configs. How do you configure ip address, subnet, and default gateway? so i can load from a tftp server.

If tftpdnld is available then that is usually faster than xmodem. But it is not always available whereas xmodem usually is.

As Jon notes, tftp is usually (much) faster, but if you do have to load via console port, some tricks:
Increase port speed to max (between devices)
Use most efficient file transfer protocol (supported between devices), e.g. xmodem-1k, y-modem, z-modem
Load smallest IOS image you can find to boot box, then load intended image via normal tftp or ftp.

TFTPDNLD and 3640? I don't think 3640 supports TFTPDNLD (if I'm not mistaken).
You can increase the xmodem speed if you follow the second link I posted earlier. Here it is again:
