3845 IOS Upgrade

Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade two of our old 3845 routers running DLSW to 15.1.4M12a, the current MD release. Here are the existing codes.

DLSWR-01#sh ver | i IOS
Cisco IOS Software, 3800 Software (C3845-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(16b), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

DLSWR-02#sh ver | i IOS
Cisco IOS Software, 3800 Software (C3845-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(16b), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

Should this be a straight upgrade or is there an upgrade path? I couldn't find anything on the release notes and just wanted to be sure.

Thanks in advance.

I believe it's a straight upgrade - however, you do want to insure you have sufficient RAM and flash for 15.x

No, it's MB.

Your 3845 looks to have 256 MB (common for that model), but your selected 15.x needs 512 MB.

Thanks Joseph. Yes, I've freed up some flash. Is there a specific RAM requirement? Couldn't find a specific recommendation in the notes too.

RAM requirements, should be on the download page, per image.

Got it, thanks.  It states 512/128 on the download page for 15.1.4M12a. I'm assuming this is 512Kb?

Here is the current RAM usage.

DLSWR-01#sh ver | i memor
Cisco 3845 (revision 1.0) with 221184K/40960K bytes of memory.

I believe this states I have 262.144Mb free right?
