3845 ISR

Is the 3845 ISR capable or supporting 3 -NM-1A-OC3-POM (with SFP-OCS-MM) and 1 - NM-16ESW? If so, are there any special considerations that should be looked at (i.e. memory, IOS, etc)? I heard that this router is only capable of supporting two OC3 modules.

Hi,

per Cisco, "a maximum of two ATM OC-3 network modules are recommended on the Cisco 3845".

That means that a third can be work too, but at some point, dendign on traffic and feature enabled, you can meet performance problems on the router.

A fast routing platform for many optical modules would be best choosen as a 7200 npe-g1 or bigger model.
