7204vxr will not recognize a pa-pos-2oc3 card

When the router boots up, the boot loader keeps telling me it does not recognize the card and wait until it fully boots to see the revision on the card, but I can not see the revision on the card because it is unrecognized.

Does anyone know what boot loader I need to get the 7204 to recognize the card?

Hi,

The 2-Port OC-3/STM-1 POS Port Adapter is supported in Cisco IOS®  Software Release 12.2(13)ZE, 12.3, 12.3T, 12.2S(RLS3), 12.0(27)S, and  later. Consult your Cisco representative for more details.

You may want to upgrade to one of these revisions and see if the card gets recognized.

HTH

That is what baffles me, I checked to make sure my IOS was actually newer than required and no dice?

Your IOS is not newer than what has been correctly indicated to you above. You need to update to one of the correct release.

I am confused then, my boot loader is 12.3(8)ZA1, is that not newer than 12.2(13)ZE, 12.3, 12.3T, 12.2S(RLS3), 12.0(27)S?

If not can you tell me was is?  12.4 of any kind?

Forget about the bood loader.

You need to update IOS image.
