Hi all,

I have a ASR 1001 router which is facing hardware issues where i can't even access the router using console cable. I am in the process of working on the rma for this router. What should i do to remove the config that is stored in the memory of the router? Is it sufficient to just remove the 8GB flash memory(previous backup of show version of this router indicate there is 8GB physical memory on the router) to ensure there is no existing configuration retained on the router? TIA!

Hello

You can even wipe the whole for the flash or specific files/directorys within it.

dir bootflash:

delete bootflash:*.<file extention>
or
delete /force /recursive bootflash:<directory name>
or
delete /force /recursive bootflash:*.*
