I saw that the management port for the ASR 1006 has limited routing functionality according to the documentation.
I know it "may" not be best practice but can I use this as a routed interface for the WAN port to our Internet or will
this not work?

Hello John,
the mgmt port is designed for out of band management and it should not be able to move traffic to/from ordinary interfaces as a form of protection.
In the past a colleague of mine tried to use the management port of the route processor of a Cisco 12000 it was an unsuccessful attempt
Do not expect to work.
Hope to help
