Hi Guys,
does anyone know the problem that after a migration of RP2 from 3.x to 16.x the SIP10 cards are no longer recognized?
And yeah, I know that the SIP10 with 16.x are no longer supported, but the cards are not recognized anymore in other routers with 3.x, there are no LEDs blinking, status "unknown", nothing at all.
Thanks!

Hello ,
have you upgraded to the new release 16.x the original ASR 1000 router with the SIP 10 linecard inserted ?
If yes, the IOS XE upgrade may have "corrupted" OR updated the firmware on the unsupported linecard.
This is why the card is not recognized on other routers still having IOS XE 3.x

Hope to help
Giuseppe

Hello Giuseppe,
yes, we did the upgrade with SIP10 cards inserted.
Unfortunately, it was only after the upgrade that we realized that the cards would no longer be supported anyway.
Are there any options to fix this? Or are the cards lost?
PS It seems like the SIP10 cards got lost while upgrading the ROMMON from 15.3.1 to 16.9.5r (not while upgrading the IOS XE)!
Thanks!
Andre

Exactly what version of 16.X.X are we talking about?
When you say "not supported" what is the output to the command "sh logs"?
Finally, if you've upgraded from 3.X.X to 16.X.X did you upgrade the ROMMON?

Hi Leo,
It seems like the SIP10 cards got lost while upgrading the ROMMON from 15.3.1 to 16.9.5r (not while upgrading the IOS XE)!
It shows "unknown".

Rommon upgrade according to guide:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr1000/rommon/asr1000-rommon-upg-guide.html
upgrade rom-monitor filename bootflash:asr1000-rommon.xxx-xx.x.pkg all
the linecards were tested with the Rommon 15.x.x and 16.x.x. Status and PWR LED are off. No communication with SIP

Did you reboot the router?
Can someone re-seat (pull both out, wait 10 seconds and push it back in) the two SIP10?
Make sure the s_crews are secured.

we've tried it all before, switched cards tried different chassis. LED's are always off. No connect to SIP linecard.
Only 3 of 9 cards are concerned.
we switched cards, tried different chassis. So we tested everything.
I have searched several Cisco sites, including this guide: Without success

Hello User404,
I agree with Leo open an RMA ticket for the affected SPA SIP 10 linecards.
It looks like there is no way to recover the linecards.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
