This document says you don't need to use the aim-atm card to support a single VWIC as an ATM interface. I have a customer that wants to connect to a public ATM network and I need to know if they can use just a VWIC and the IOS to support nrt-vbr, rt-vbr over a public ATM backbone without using the AIM-ATM?
I am not sure, I think it is possibe to connect your public network using VWIC, with out using AIM-ATM. Atlast it are all depends on the model of the cisco router that you are using, it having their own limitation.
