AVF does not reply when ARP request is made using cached ARP.

Hello All, I have a scenario where we have implemented GLBP Group and have 2 AVF's in Round-Robin

Initially the client uses broadcast MAC to make ARP request and any one of the AVF replies to client saying who is Gateway

Client sometimes uses cached ARP MAC of an AVF to make ARP request and out of 2, one AVF does not replies to ARP requests.

for eg.

Client 1 will use MAC of AVF1 (Instead of using Broadcast MAC) to make an ARP request and AVG replies back to this ARP

Client 1 will use MAC of AVF2 (Instead of using Broadcast MAC) to make an ARP request and AVG does not responds back to this ARP

Note: Both AVF's do reply to ARP request when the End device uses Broadcast MAC while making an ARP request, the only issue we are seeing is when the device stores the MAC of AVF and tries to reach back to gateway.

The AVG is responsible for answering Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) requests for the virtual IP address. Load sharing is achieved by the AVG replying to the ARP requests with different virtual MAC addresses.

Yes, correct. In my this scenario AVG it is not repying to ARP request with one of the virtual MAC address and it is replying with the other Virtual MAC address.

Hello
The AF are used sequentially when using RR ( hence RR)

Is pre-emption enabled, and have you set any hello/hold/redirect timers or are they all default?

Can you post the output of
show GLBP
