Beginner - Backup SVI & Trunk Help for P2P Fiber Connections

I am learning on the job and appreciate any help. We have 2 locations and adding a third soon. Location A is DC and has Nexus 5k HSRP pair. Location B has 3750 stack IP based. They are connected by SVI and trunk using EIGRP on Nexus side summary on 3750 side. Unfortunately all locations need voice VLAN's from location A which forces us to use trunk. Location B is connected to location A by P2P fiber and fail over is done with ASA at each site VPN tunnel. We lose voice/phones in failover mode. My question is in regards to configuring a new location C on IP based 3750 stack. Same needs and setup as location B. Location C will have a P2P to both locations A & B. My plan as of now is on primary link to Location A create an SVI for any new LAN's to route and trunk on P2P interfaces for voice/phone equipment (same as in place for location B). Struggling with P2P link to Location B for redundancy.

  • Create another SVI and trunk? How would this look in routing table having two SVI and trunks that can get to same IP? Is IP based able to see extra hop to Location A and use when primary down? Should I influence EIGRP?

  • Create routing for Location C to Location B 3750 P2P interfaces by removing layer2, set static route distance 200 but would lose trunk. To me this would simulate ASA tunnel. Anyway to do this with trunk? Should I do this and add trunk in fail-over mode manually?

We are really spanning out these voice VLAN’s any concerns? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Hello,

can you draw out what your currently have and what you are planning to add ? Also, why are you losing the voice phones during failover ? Post the configs of your current devices as well...

I was able to figure this out with a friends assistance. Thanks for taking time to review. I will create 2 trunks and let spanning tree do its job. Then create two separate SVI's using EIGRP to location A and static with longer distance to Location B for failover.
