bgp 1600 routers IOS dilemma

We needed IP feature sets to run BGP in our network. 12.2(26) went ok and allows us to implement DSCP in a PIP network. The IP (only) feature set works fine for BGP on the 3640, 2610's, and 1700's. ON the 1600's it as advertised as a choice to implement in the menu, but exclaims, "UNKNOWN ROUTING PROTOCOL" when you choose it. Is this just sloppy inconsistency, or a flaw in this particular ios.c1600-y-l.122-26a.bin

I believe it is an issue with the feature set that you have chosen to use. I checked the software advisor on the Cisco site and when I look for BGP support for 1600 it indicates that it requires at least the IP PLUS feature set. IP only may do it on other platforms but on the 1600 I believe you must go for at least the PLUS image.
