BGP Advertisement Query

Hi Guys,

We currently have 7 sites and adding a new one.

My query is regarding prefix lists. As far as i know prefix list controls what is advertised.

If no prefix lists are applied and neighbor is advertised will all the routes be advertised automatically?

Can I get some insight on this please?

Hi @jeetkulkarni

  Prefix-list is a BGP-style access-list to control advertisements inbound and outbound. And yes, if you does not establish this filter and are going to receive all the routes send by a peer and depends on your router sits, this can be a problem.
