BGP as-prepend with as-override

Hi experts,

I have a question about as-prepend with as-override use on PEs on the same service provider.

i would like to temporarely deploy new routers in parrallel (time to migrate) on the same site with duplicate client subnets. (192.168.1.0 & 192.168.2.0 ...same configuration)

CE1,2,3,4 are in the same VRF.

To not create a routing loop or other problemes, i think to use "as-prepend" on Local-A to influence inbound traffic.
(And so the prefer path is to Local-B for all routes).

My question :  Is possible to do that with bgp on cisco routers ? Maybe there is a better solution ? Restriction on service providers ?

I dont find any cisco documentation about the use of these two bgp-attributes jointly.

Hello,

to be sure, I recreated your setup in GNS3. Both features work together, so that would be an option. Obviously your Local A would not be reachable at all anymore from Local B, but I guess that is not required during the migration...

Hello,

Exactly, it is not important if local A is not reachable.

Thank you, i just will check if my service provider don't use some policy on PEs.
