BGP question

Hi,

I have a BGP topology as below. (please see attachment more detail)

<1> R1 is BGP AS65011 and R2 is BGP AS65012

<2> There are two links between R1 and R2 , one is MPLS ,another is FTTB.

        Both links establish BGP.

<3> These two links are not load-balance.

I prefer some subnets through MPLS and some subnets through FTTB.

Question: Is there any concern or problem about this topology and configuration ?

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Luke Yeh

Hi,

If you have some applications running which are sensitive to asymmetric routing, you could face some issues with this application.

If you are preferring some subnets via MPLS but return is preferring via FTTB, will cause an asymmetric routing.

BGP, by default, doesn't ECMP.  However, Cisco routers can usually be configured to do so.

If you want some subnets to use one path, you may need to use something like PBR.

If you want dynamically load balance, you may want to consider OER/PfR.
