Bridge over GRE tunnel

I have two locations and want to setup same IP subnet to resolve the IP address assignment issue.

I also can setup GRE tunnel as direct interface between two sites but I don't know it supportable the bridge via the GRE tunnel.

please advise me the supportability and sample configuration if yes.

GRE will take your IP packet in another IP packet. What you need is l2vpn. Check out L2TPv3.

John, i have the same problem ! I need bypass a mpls network.

Good results, it were obtained with dlsw and irb. But i need a light solution.
