you need a security-license for that. Compare your router to the following output:

router#sh version | b Technology Package License Information

Technology Package License Information for Module:'c2900'

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Technology    Technology-package           Technology-package

              Current       Type           Next reboot

------------------------------------------------------------------

ipbase        ipbasek9      Permanent      ipbasek9

security      securityk9    Permanent      securityk9

uc            None          None           None

data          None          None           None

Karsten ,

thanks for your reply .

do i need to purchase security license separately ?

If you do not currently have the security license, and if you need the crypto capability, then yes you need to purchase the security license separately.

thanks Richard ,

i have just purchased this router (Cisco 1941) , so how can i checked that whether we have security license or we have to buy .

1 - can you tell me the command to check the security license within the BOX. and if we have then how i can i enable this license .

2 - sh version out put will show the license file ?

regards ,

the command to find the license is the "show version | b Technology" above. If you see the same "security"-line you have the license. If not, your reseller will be happy to sell you the license.

Many thanks Karsten.
