Dear Team

I need to update firmware of a WS-C3750X-48P stack with 3 members, I am new to Networking, just need some advice for this

Do I need to download the .bin or .tar file for this stack upgrade?

And also need to know whether how can I find the correct firmware file against the switch model number?

Thanks in advance

Check what is current IOS Code running., Last I upgraded 3750X with  (15.0.2-SE) before we move on to Cat 9K family.

read the release notes,  Stack required to reboot, so do this upgrade in Maintenance window( always take config backup out of the box to be save)

You can upgrade using TFTP or USB

Follow the below guide :

Hi @Dilanjan

The .tar file contains the Cisco IOS image file and the files that you need for the embedded device manager for e.g. if you are using webui to manage switch you will use tar file. If the switch is currently not running on tar image you can use .bin image file.

If you are not sure check flash and look for any directory 'drwx' with same name as current running IOS. Tar files are extracted during upgrade process. For e.g. here 'c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4' is directory which will contain c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4.bin and also a sub-directory of html files. You can check using 'dir flash:/c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4/'

4 drwx 192 Mar 12 1993 08:11:00 +00:00 c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4

Regular .bin file is generally saved directly in flash directory.

Step-by-step upgrade instructions are mentioned here-

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/catalyst-3750-series-switches/64898-upgrade-3750-stack.html

Thanks
