HI,

For an activity on the client's last night.

we install a card WS-X6704-10GE in slot 3 in cisco 7600S.. when installing the card into the router showed us the following error:

%C6KPWR-SP-4-DISABLED: power to module in slot 4 set off (Fabric channel errors)

The slot 3 works well. The failure occurs in slot 4 does not participate in the activity. That's the weird thing.

Also install another card in the slot 4, on a trial basis. and continued with the same problem.

Hi Raul,

I have seen similar issues on Cisco 6500 series chassis'. I have had to replace the chassis itself and from the symptoms you are describing it seems you are also experiencing the same problem.

Fabric channel errors occur when there is a issue with a slot communicating with the supervisor(s). I would recommend replacing the chassis.

I'm having the *exact same problem.  Three different types of cards (WS-X6748-GE-TX, WS-X6716-10GE,

WS-X6724-SFP) won't boot in slot 4 due to "Fabric channel errors", but those same cards work in other slots.

We've tried a different SUP in the chassis, and a different chassis!!

I have a TAC case open and will update on progress.
