Dear all,

I want talk BGP with ISP though 200Mb/s WAN link by using Cisco Router 2921; and in the near future WAN link will be upgraded to 1Gb/s. Does Cisco Router 2921 has enough performance to do this task?

Thanks alot for your advice!

The 2921 is not really scaled for 200 MB of throughput you might want to look at a 3945e or an ASR 1001

Cisco recommends the 2921 for up to 50 Mbps of WAN bandwidth.  Cisco recommendations are conservative, so it might manage your 200 Mbps link depending on how much bandwidth is actually used and your configuration, but for 1Gbps, you'll likely what something "faster".

BTW, the "fastest" ISR, the 3945E, is only recommended for 350 Mbps of WAN bandwidth.  So you might want to look at L3 switches (especially Metro Ethernet variants) or the ASR1K series.

You might, although a 3750 won't be able to take full Internet BGP tables.

True, it won't be able. The 3750 with sdm desktop template of routing has a limit of 11 k routes: 8 k indirect + 3 k directly connected.

Best Regards,

Jose.
