Hello,
I would like to download a newer IOS release for my 1760, but it doesn't work.
This is what I do:
1. Go to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps221/ps227/index.html
2. click on "Download software"
3. select "IOS Software"
4. select "12.4.17a(LD)" under "Latest Releases"
5. select the release for "c1700-adventerprisek9-mz.124-17a.bin"
6. getting to a page which sais this: "To download this software, you must do all of the following: Register [...]"
7. I am registered, so I click on "Log in now"
8. As I have already logged in I am getting back to the page I was in step no. 5.
9. This ends in a loop...
I am using Firefox 2.0.0.11.
Someone please tell me how I get new Releases for the router.
Regards,

do you have an account with the rights to download software vom cisco.com? A "normal" User does not get software from the cisco site.

thanks. I didn't knew that. And there is no indication for this! Only that 'due to export rights of the US...' you have to create an account.
where can I get the latest security updates then?

Hi,
to download cisco software, you must purchase a support contract (aka smartnet) that is available from any cisco reseller or partner.
There is no access to download without it.
