cannot ping audio coders from different subset, but other server connected in same network can be pingable from different subnet/vlan

Hi,

This issue is strange to me.

Scenario: we have different servers connected on same network (vlan 101) and all server are pingable from any network except AUDIO CODES.

Subnet/vlan : 167.191.48.0 /22

Audio Codes IP address : 167.191.48.95

other servers IP address : 167.191.48.98, 167.191.48.99, 167.191.48.75

Issue:

On Switch ---> Audio codes are not reachable from different network, but it can reachable from same network.

On Audio Codes --> it can only reach default gateway. but when it try to ping other IP address then it's not even reach default gateway.

SWTH-24#ping 167.191.48.95 source vlan 101 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> can ONLY reach from same network

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 167.191.48.95, timeout is 2 seconds:

Packet sent with a source address of 167.191.48.1

!!!!!

Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 1/2/4 ms

SWTH-24#ping 167.191.48.95 source vlan 102  >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> unable to reach from other networks

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 167.191.48.95, timeout is 2 seconds:

Packet sent with a source address of 167.191.84.1

.....

Success rate is 0 percent (0/5)

SWTH-24#ping 167.191.48.98 source vlan 101

Let me know, what cause the issue.

FYI, Audio Codes setting will be same as other Codes which are working fine for very long time

Hello Suresh

Can you please post the complete switch config for reference .

What is the Default gateway IP  address ?

are you using any layer 3 device for IVR ?

Regards

Rizwan

Hi Rizan,

SWTH-24(Distribution) is connected to SWTH-26(Access) via ether-channel.

All servers connected to SWTH-26 under vlan 101. Default Gateway for vlan 101 network is 167.191.48.1 (same can be seen from above ping with source vlan).

Audio Codes can be reachable from same vlan, in other words can only reach 1st hop. So if we change the source vlan, it won’t work.

But other server connected in same vlan can be reachable from any network. i.e even if change source vlan, it works.

I’m not sure layer 3 devices for IVR, as Audio Codes managed by different team. They already raised support case with Audio Codes, but no help.

This issue was resolved after upgrading audio coders firmware. Thanks!
