CCIE Challenge: Logging IGRP topology changes...

Hi All,

I have EIGRP and OSPF rotuer instances running on Cisco IOS (latest ED) in various VRF-lite pools and want to know if any body knows a way of logging (via SysLog maybe) changes occuring to:

- Installed Routing Table (RIB)

- EIGRP Topology Changes

- OSPF Topology Changes

Specifically I want to catch routes / subnets appearing and disappearing, etc due to link failures.  I know for specific routes I can run an IP SLA, but when there are a lot of routes I want to have something dynamic.

In effect a way to record a history as to the decisions made by OSPF / EIGRP over a period of time...

Any ideas; EEM maybe?

Thoughts welcome!

James

Hello, James.

I would say that easiest what could be done is use of debug commands.

For example, "debug ip routing" for RIB.

But what is the purpose of your task? Is there any security requirement?
