Continuing on from our last discussion

Please if these switches and routers will support the IOS 15x, flash update.

Catalyst 3560/3750/9200 series

Cisco Routers 2800/2900 series

Please advise.

The Catalyst 3560 and 3750 series switches are older models, and their latest available IOS version is 15.0(2)SE11. These switches may not support the newer IOS 15.x versions, such as 15.1, 15.2, and so on.

The Catalyst 9200 series switches are newer model and you will find IOS xe > 16.0.

The Cisco 2800 and 2900 series routers should be able to support IOS 15.x versions. These routers have higher memory and processing capabilities compared to the older models, enabling them to run newer software versions.

Some of the original 3560/3750 do not have sufficient flash to contain any 15.x.

Please advise on the target cisco switches/router rev’s compatible with
IOS 15x, from your experience.

I hear we are now up to IOS 17X.
IOS 15x is now out of date.

Your insight is really appreciated.
Having a cisco labs with the updated IOS is a must
to allow progression onto the CCNP certification.

For a learning lab, have you considered using CML-personal?  I believe Cisco recommends it for CCNP study labs.
