hi, 
after CCNA (RS) i took CCNP (route 902 exam only 1 paper) ,
which is expiring on Feb , 2015 . 
what i want to know ,.,. Is it mandatory for me now to pass remaining 2 exams ( tshoot and switch) before feb ,2015 .  or just taking one of exam (switch /tshoot ) will save my CCNA and will give me new expiration date . So that i can finish my CCNP in a year (before new expiration date )

Hi there,

Your current CCNA would be recertified by passing any 642/300 level exam (so either tshoot or switch) would work here.

CCNA Routing and Switching certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

• Pass any current Associate-level exam except for ICND1 exam, or
• Pass any current 642-XXX Professional-level or any 300-XXX Professional-level exam, or
• Pass any current 642-XXX Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams or MeetingPlace Specialist exams, Implementing Cisco TelePresence Installations (ITI) exams, Cisco Leading Virtual Classroom Instruction exams, or any 650 online exams), or
• Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
• Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
• Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications

The exams and training courses have been refreshed to reflect the alignment with changing industry job roles and the addition of new study materials.

Beginning January 30, 2015, 300-101 ROUTE, 300-115 SWITCH and 300-135 TSHOOTexams will be the only exams available for registration.
