Changing modem in Cellular ISR (C899G-LTE-NA)

Hi all,

First time posting on here, so please forgive if I'm asking in the wrong topic.

I have a C899G-LTE-NA cellular router running on the AT&T network.  The modem inside this router is a Sierra Wireless MC7354 (Cat3 LTE).

My question is, can I replace the modem with something a little newer if the form factor is the same?  Will the Cisco ISR recognize the MC7455 (Cat6 LTE).

The MC7455 is installed in later cellular models from Cisco (1000 series I believe).

As far as I know, no.  The modem is non-removeable.

not much information (or instructional videos) to be found anywhere, but if you are skilled with soldering and micro electronics, it would be interesting to know if this works. So it is a question of trial and error. I would assume that you also need a different firmware.
