I am setting up a Cisco 1811 router to manage multiple VLANS on my network. On the back of the router I have 10 FastEthernet ports.
From what I understand, FE0 and FE1 are considered WAN ports, and FE2-FE9 are LAN ports.
I am confused though, because FE2-FE5 are labeled "FE X" and FE6-FE9 are labeled "SWITCH".
What is the difference between "FE X" and "SWITCH" exactly?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

You don't have to look at these as separate ports. All are switchports and they are accessed in the Config as FastEthernetX. It's more or less a question where was space available on the surface to label the ports.

hi,
it does looks confusing (at first) but once you've handled ISR with integrated switch module for quite a while, you'll get used to it.
karsten is also right. it's labelled that way since there's not enough room/space.
SWITCH - Layer 2 switch module
FE X - FastEthernet; X indicates the port number: 2-9

That makes sense. What confused me is that they list them separately in the configuration guide!
