cisco 1921's GE ports are down.

Hello, I recently started preparing for CCNA and bought a 1921 router for home lab. I was configuring ip address and noticed the status of the port changed from administratively down to down. I looked up and understood that this may be a hardware issue. Both GE ports are down. What can I do now??

is anything connected to port ? if not that will show as down.

connect any device PC / switch to that port that will come up

(x/x is the interface you claiming as down)

Hello,

it used to be that you could bring the interface up, even when nothing is connected to the interface, by issuing the 'no keepalive' command under the interface. Not sure if that is still possible...
