Hello,
I am practicing some Labs on my Cisco hardware + GNS3. I have this Cisco 2621 that is my terminal server and was working fine but it now, connects via console, provide all sorts of messages ( all normal + warnings like duplex mis-match on Fa0/1) but It does not give or show me the router prompt no matter what I do? I have changed terminals, ser-USB adapters, etc with no positive result.
I had not sen this behavior before.
Any help and feedback will be greatly appreciated folks.
I am using Linux but same result when i try connecting putty using Windows 7.
Best Regards,
Masood

Hi,
Try the combination:
Control + Shift + 6 and then press enter
Have you restarted the router? Try to use putty with basic settings, Also check if you are selecting the correct COM port. https://www.google.com.sv/search?q=com+port&rlz=1C1HIJA_enSV704SV704&espv=2&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjx-pe8nqzTAhXEZiYKHUaHBZMQ_AUIBigB&biw=1517&bih=735#tbm=isch&q=com+port+windows+hardware+manager&imgrc=UoTVxE4kVdudvM:

Thanks for responding. COM port is correct that is why I switched to my windows machine to see what happens with same result.
I use Linux and I thought may be because of that so I moved back to windows but no use.
I will use the break key combination and see what happens and will keep you posted.
Best Regards,
Masood
